U2 To Santorini - Recording New Album in Black Rock Studios!

Exciting news... looks like U2 is heading to Santorini!  No, not for a show but for the recording of U2's next studio album. Several sources are now saying that U2 is finalizing details with Black Rock Studios near Akrotiri on the Southern part of Santorini.  Black Rock is one of the best recording studios in the world, and probably the most beautifully located.

Santorini has been seeing a lot of A-list celebrities lately. Beyonce visited for a photo shoot and Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie had a brief vacation, after which they bought a Santorini home!!

U2's new album is expected out in 2011. Remains to be seen if it will have any Santorini flavor...

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt Buys House on Santorini

In a previous post we were telling you about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's vacation trip to Santorini. Apparently they fell in love with Santorini (hey, it's just impossible not to...!) and rumors were circulating that 'Brangelina' were looking for a house on Santorini. Rumors seem to have been valid as the latest news are that Angelina, Brad and their children got themselves a new Santorini vacation house.

It is hard to find information on what type of property it is, but it is said to be a castle like house on a large piece of land with enough room for a helicopter landing pad. Apparently the house is located somewhere on the road between Fira and Oia and painted in the traditional Santorini blue and white.

New Santorini Night Club. The Saga Club!

Santorini night clubs may not be as many as the number of night clubs on say Mykonos, but what it lacks in quantity it makes up in quality.
On June 19th there is an exciting new Santorini night club opening on Monolithos beach. The talk of the town is that this is going to be one of the best night clubs on Santorini.
The Saga Santorini Night Club is situated on Monolithos beach on the East side of the island close to Santorini airport. This is an interesting location as most other Santorini night clubs are located in Fira or the south-eastern beach resorts of Kamari, Perivolos and Perissa.
The owners promise an extravagant after hours night club experience, with frequent guest DJs from Greece and abroad.
DJ Francesco Diaz of Germany will provide the soundtrack for opening night at the Saga Club.

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt Visits Santorini!

The attraction of Santorini on the rich and famous is well-established.  Last week, the not entirely unknown couple Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt spent a few days on Santorini together with their children.

As is custom with A-list celebrity visits Angelina & Brad remained incognito and had a suite with a secluded terrace and pool on the east side of the island.

For Angelina it was a return visit after she did a shoot here for the movie Tomb Raider.

Their enchantment with Santorini may be more than just a fling. Rumor has it that Angelina & Brad may get a Santorini house!
